Octorara Ballet School

At Octorara Ballet, we are dedicated to providing a positive and respectful environment for our dancers. For over twenty years, parents and dancers have enjoyed our wholesome culture and beautiful performances. We believe that dance should be a source of joy and personal growth, and we strive to make each class a delightful experience for our students.

Our Classes

We offer a variety of classes for different ages and skill levels. Our Toddler & Preschool classes are designed for children aged 18 months to 4 years old. These classes focus on providing a positive social experience and lots of learning, with no stress or pressure.

Our Young Dancers classes are for children aged 5-10. These classes specialize in ballet and offer eleven levels of instruction to ensure that each dancer is placed in the right class for their skill level. Dancers in Ballet 1 & 2 also have the opportunity to learn gymnastics tumbling skills.

For older students, we offer classes for Tweens & Teens. These classes are designed for dancers of all skill levels, from beginners to advanced dancers. Our non-competitive and encouraging environment allows our dancers to grow in confidence and grace while they learn and perform in two story ballets each year.

Performances

At Octorara Ballet, we love to perform! Each semester, we put on delightful story ballets that showcase our dancers' talents. Family and friends look forward to watching their dancers perform on stage each December and June. Our past performances include The Nutcracker, The Little Mermaid, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Snow White & the Seven Dwarfs, and Hansel & Gretel.

Our upcoming performance is Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, which will be held at Octorara High School in December 2024. Dancers aged 4 and up who are enrolled in our school-year class program will have the opportunity to perform in this beautiful ballet.

Pre-Pointe & Pointe Program

We love to celebrate our students and it is a major milestone when they go on pointe! It takes years of practice to safely and successfully dance on pointe. Our Pre-Pointe Program prepares dancers for that very special moment of putting on their first pair of satin pointe shoes.
