I am Amelie Yang Custer, a licensed professional counselor (LPC) in Pennsylvania with over a decade of experience in supporting individuals and couples towards wellness and success. My office is conveniently located in the heart of Philadelphia, on the beautiful Rittenhouse Square.

Who I am and my approach to therapy

I believe in empowering individuals and couples to reach their full potential through a collaborative and compassionate therapeutic approach. My style is warm, flexible, and culturally sensitive. I recognize and celebrate the unique strengths and challenges that each client brings, and work alongside them as partners in their journey.

My background encompasses diverse settings, including community mental health, schools, and outpatient clinics, both in China and the United States. This rich experience has equipped me with a vast understanding of human development, personality, and various therapeutic interventions. I integrate evidence-based practices with creativity and humor to create a safe and supportive environment where clients can explore their concerns, achieve clarity, and develop coping skills.

What I offer

I provide individual and couples therapy, specializing in:

• Individual therapy: Addressing anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, identity exploration, and personal growth.
• Couples therapy: Strengthening communication, intimacy, conflict resolution, and improving relationship dynamics.

I understand that starting therapy can be daunting. I prioritize creating a welcoming and comfortable environment where you can feel safe and supported. I offer a free 20-minute phone consultation to discuss your concerns and determine if my approach is a good fit for you.

Current Availability

I am currently offering in-person and telehealth sessions using secure telemedicine platforms. While I do not currently offer a formal sliding scale, I am open to discussing flexible arrangements in special circumstances.
