Our Origins and Vision

Mental Health Resources, Inc. (MHR) emerged in the early 1970s from the passionate minds of Eastern New Mexico University staff who recognized the urgent need for accessible mental health and substance abuse support in the eastern part of the state. Driven by a desire to offer services off-campus, they established the Eastern New Mexico Resource Center, which later transitioned into the robust organization we know today.

Guided by the belief in the inherent worth and dignity of every individual, MHR offers a comprehensive array of services to empower people struggling with mental health challenges and substance abuse. We operate from three offices in Clovis, Portales, and Tucumcari, supplementing them with two outreach offices in Mosquero and Fort Sumner, ensuring accessibility throughout the five counties we serve - Curry, Roosevelt, Quay, De Baca, and Harding.
