Potomac Excavating has been a leading provider of site work solutions for the commercial and industrial sectors for over 25 years. With a strong background in land development, our company began by handling our own site work needs and eventually expanded to offer our expertise to other developers in Maryland, Pennsylvania, Ohio, and West Virginia. Our commitment to quality, safety, and building strong relationships has earned us a reputation for excellence in the industry.

Our Story

Our journey began by focusing on commercial property development and the creation of over 1,000 residential lots. However, at the end of 2018, we recognized a need for a high-quality site work company and decided to offer our services to external clients. Since then, we have successfully completed challenging projects in various locations, ranging from the Philadelphia airport to tidal areas around the port of Baltimore.

In early 2022, we were awarded the complete site work contract for Hitachi's new rail car assembly plant in Hagerstown, MD, and in fall of 2022, we won another Amazon project in Ohio. These accomplishments represent our ongoing commitment to expanding our service area and providing exceptional site work solutions.

What We Offer

Our comprehensive range of services includes demolition, earthwork, site utilities, fine grading, curb, sidewalk, site lighting, and finished paving. We utilize state-of-the-art Phantom 4 RTK (real-time kinematic) drone technology to accurately measure and bill for the dirt being moved on site, and to provide off-site project managers with detailed visual updates.
