Pennington Funeral Home

Our Story

For over 120 years, Pennington Funeral Home has been serving the families of San Marcos and Hays County. Established in 1897 by A.B. Rogers as A.B. Rogers Furniture and Coffins, the business was renamed Undertakers and Furniture Store in 1907 and moved to a new location on the corner of Hopkins Street and LBJ Drive. In the early 1930s, Willard A. Pennington joined the business and eventually married Edra Collier, the store's bookkeeper. In 1943, Willard and Edra purchased the business, renaming it Rogers-Pennington Funeral Home. Five years later, the name was changed to Pennington Funeral Home.
