For over three generations, The 211 Bar & Grill has been a northern Michigan tradition, serving as "The Gathering Place" for families and friends. Our story began in 1946 as a log cabin ice cream parlor, evolving over the years to become famous for its burgers, pizza, and sandwiches. Throughout its history, the establishment has undergone various ownership changes, each bringing new additions to the menu, including full-course dinners and entrees. Despite these changes, the essence of the 211 has remained the same, with its reputation for exceptional food and service.

Today, the 211 Bar & Grill continues to thrive, offering a diverse range of menu items that cater to all tastes. Our burgers are made fresh daily, not frozen patties, and our pizza is crafted with hand-tossed crust and fresh ingredients. One of our signature dishes is Matt's famous "Black Lake style pulled pork, " smoked low and slow, and our BBQ ribs are renowned for their delicious homemade BBQ sauce. Additionally, we offer a complete selection of dinners and a kids' menu, making us a family-friendly destination.

Our History

In 1946, the 211 Bar & Grill was founded as a log cabin ice cream parlor. Over the years, it underwent various transformations, changing hands several times. Each new owner brought their own innovations, including the introduction of burgers, pizza, and full-course dinners. Despite these changes, the establishment remained known affectionately as "The 211." In 2008, the 211 closed its doors, only to reopen in 2011 under new ownership. Today, the 211 Bar & Grill is once again thriving, thanks to its commitment to quality food, service, and community involvement.
