Decatur School Of Ballet

Decatur School of Ballet offers a wide range of dance classes for adults, teens, and children. From classical ballet to hip hop, tap, modern, swing, creative movement, lyrical, and Scottish Highland dance, there's something for everyone. Our school is headquartered in Downtown Decatur and operates on a nine-month curriculum from September to May, with special summer programs available. We pride ourselves on providing quality dance instruction in a friendly atmosphere, catering to students of all ages, technical levels, and abilities. Individual evaluations are done for each student to ensure they are placed in the appropriate class.

Our commitment to excellence is evident in our long history, dating back to 1947. We have been the oldest classical ballet school in DeKalb County for over 75 years, starting with just a few students in a small room over an ice cream shoppe. Over the years, thousands of students have trained, learned, and grown at our school, under the guidance of dedicated instructors. We welcome students from diverse racial, cultural, and economic backgrounds, believing that dance should be accessible to all. While teaching dance is our business, we also focus on developing each student as an individual, nurturing their creative and cultural human potential through arts education.

We have two studios, Church Street Studio and Sams Street Studio, offering ample space for our classes. Our instructors are professionals in their field, providing a supportive environment for students to grow and improve.
