Our Story

At The Vermont Butcherblock Company, we are passionate about bringing the beauty and durability of natural wood into your home. Our story began with a simple belief: that handcrafted products made with care should be both functional and stunning. We are a small, family-owned company located in the heart of Vermont. Our craftsmen meticulously hand select each piece of hardwood, ensuring the highest quality and unique character in every product.

We take pride in our custom millshop, where each piece is shaped and crafted with dedication. Unlike mass-produced options, our items are imbued with the spirit of individual craftsmanship. We strive to use wood responsibly, sourcing lumber from locally managed forests whenever possible and giving back to our community by repurposing wood scraps from other furniture manufacturers. The sawdust and shavings from our workshop are donated to local farms to be used as bedding for cows, pigs, and other animals.
