At Verderber Nursery & Garden Center, we are a family-owned and operated business with over 40 years of experience in the horticulture industry. Our commitment to quality, service, and customer satisfaction has made us one of the leading garden centers on Long Island.

Our journey began with John Verderber Sr., a prestigious Cornell graduate who founded Verderber's Landscape Nursery Inc. His vision was to provide high-quality field stock and container conifers, shade trees, shrubs, and perennials to the local community. Today, we have grown to encompass 300+ acres of nursery land, including a 110-acre nursery and a 30-acre holding yard in Aquebogue. Our Garden Center is a beautiful setting where customers can find inspiration and education through our various displays, including a sunken garden, ponds, statuary, fountains, and a large pottery section.

Meet The Family

We are proud to be a family-run business, with each member bringing their unique skills and experiences to the table. John Verderber Sr. is our founder and a Cornell graduate with over 45 years of experience in the industry. Maria Verderber, co-founder and an Adelphi graduate, handles the business side of things. John Edward Verderber, a graduate from the University of Georgia with a degree in Landscape Architecture, is an integral part of our design team. Joseph Verderber, who graduated from Farmingdale State College with a degree in Horticulture & Landscape Design, assists with our plant care and maintenance. Lastly, Mary Verderber, a Pennsylvania State University graduate with a degree in Landscape Contracting and an emphasis on design, contributes to our landscape design services.
