To achieve these goals, we have established partnerships with leading health care organizations, including the Defense Department and CommonSpirit Health. These partnerships enable us to leverage the expertise and resources of our partners, while also sharing our own knowledge and best practices to improve patient outcomes and advance health care innovation.

In October 2023, Steward Health Care joined the Defense Department Spouse Education and Career Opportunities program and Military Spouse Employment Partnership, demonstrating our commitment to supporting the health and well-being of military families. Through this partnership, we are working to provide comprehensive health care services to military spouses and their families, while also promoting education and career opportunities for these individuals.

Additionally, in May 2023, Steward Health Care completed the sale of its Utah health care sites to CommonSpirit Health, further expanding our reach and capabilities as a leading health care provider. This transaction enabled us to leverage the resources and expertise of CommonSpirit Health, while also providing opportunities for growth and development within our organization.

Leadership and Innovation

To achieve these goals, we have appointed experienced professionals to key leadership positions, including Dr. Marisela Marrero, who serves as our Senior Vice President for Health Care Equity and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.

Dr. Marrero is a dedicated advocate for health equity and a respected leader in the field of health care. In her role, she works closely with our providers and staff to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion, while also developing strategies to address health inequities and improve patient outcomes. Under her leadership, we are working to create a more just and equitable health care system, where all patients have access to the high-quality care they deserve.
