Klaystation

Klaystation, founded in 2008 by Saundra and James Earp, has grown into a thriving family-friendly art studio. In November 2016, Emily and Frederick Mergenthaler took over the management and ownership, committed to preserving Klaystation's fun and nurturing atmosphere while adding their unique touch. The studio now offers a wide variety of mediums, including wheel throwing classes, hand building classes, and 5-week courses. We strive to provide an inviting space where customers can leave daily life behind and let their creativity run free. As Pablo Picasso once said, "The purpose of art is washing the dust of daily life off our souls."

Our Services

At Klaystation, we specialize in walk-in pottery painting, allowing customers to glaze pre-made pottery and create their own masterpieces. Our studio caters to all levels of artistic ability, from the artistically impaired to seasoned painters. Our staff is always available to help with design ideas and techniques, ensuring a fun and engaging experience for everyone.

We offer a large selection of pre-fired bisqueware, including pottery, unique dinnerware, and home decor items. Prices include all necessary supplies, glazing, and on-site kiln firing. You can find a detailed description of the prices here.

If you're short on time, our talented staff can create a custom piece for you based on your preferences. Simply provide us with details, and we will deliver a custom-painted piece within 1-3 weeks depending on your requested design.

In addition, Klaystation now offers acrylic painting on pottery pieces, allowing customers to take their creations home the same day. These pieces are purely decorative and not food- or water-safe.

How It Works

Upon entering our studio, customers are required to wash their hands to remove natural oils before handling raw pottery. Next, choose a piece from our extensive selection-prices are clearly marked, and include all supplies, glazing, and kiln firing (excluding tax). Our staff will provide guidance and assistance in designing your piece. After painting your masterpiece, leave it with us for glazing and firing, and return in 7-10 days to pick it up.

Custom Ordering

Can't visit our studio but interested in custom-painted pottery? Our skilled staff can create a personalized piece for you based on your preferences. Simply provide details on how you'd like your piece to look, and we will prepare it within 1-3 weeks, depending on the complexity of the design.

Acrylic Painting

Did you know that you can now paint any of our pottery pieces with acrylic paint and take them home the same day? Enjoy 30% off the marked price of any ceramic item when choosing this option, although these pieces will be purely decorative and not intended for food or water use.
