Marina is a Registered Dietitian (RD), Lactation Nutritionist, and founder of TheLactationNutritionist.com. She is a university-educated nutrition expert, holding a Master's Degree in Nutrition and a Bachelor's Degree in Nutritional Science. Marina is passionate about topics including Infant Nutrition, Women's Health, and Nutrition throughout the Life Cycle.

Marina is a mom of two, having breastfed both her children past the age of 2. She believes there is no better way to nourish a developing brain and young body than with breast milk. Marina grew up in Europe and has called many places home, including Texas, Germany, Alabama, and Pennsylvania. She now lives in New York with her husband Joshua, daughter Lia, son Leo, and tail-wagger Lilly.

My Philosophy

Marina believes that the first 1000 days, from conception to age 2, are the most important time in a person's development. It is the time when our brain forms and develops, our gastrointestinal tract accumulates a bacterial milieu, and we shape food preferences and eating habits for the rest of our life. Marina emphasizes the impact of nutrition during this time, as it is the most important influencer in all of these developments.

As a lactation nutritionist, Marina understands the unique nutritional needs of breastfeeding mothers and their infants. She believes that we have an opportunity to positively influence our children's development and lifelong health simply by tweaking our diets while breastfeeding. Marina's goal is to help mothers make smart choices and understand the impact of nutrition on their own bodies, their developing fetus, their breastfeeding infant, and their growing family.
