Our History

Alpine Granite Accents was founded in 2000 by the husband-and-wife team of Flora and Kasey Buoy, driven by a shared passion for the beauty and craftsmanship inherent in natural stone. Kasey had always been fascinated by working with stone, and their company quickly outgrew two initial locations in the Bitterroot Valley, paving the way for the opening of their current 7,500 square-foot facility in 2005. This permanent location was meticulously designed to incorporate efficiency, state-of-the-art equipment, and a welcoming showroom, where clients could envision the possibilities of natural stone in their own spaces.

State-of-the-Art Facilities

Our dedication to providing top-tier service is reflected in our investments in advanced equipment. The facility houses a gantry stone saw, featuring precision diamond blades that effortlessly cut slabs into manageable pieces. An inline polisher allows for the creation of 10 distinct edge profiles, and for clients seeking unique detail, our trained artisans provide expert hand finishing.

In 2007, we acquired a Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machine, a testament to our commitment to precision. This cutting-edge technology enables us to achieve cuts with an accuracy of.004 of an inch. Kasey Buoy, our owner, underwent rigorous training in Minnesota to master the intricacies of operating the CNC, ensuring its seamless integration into our fabrication process.

Showroom Experience

Adjacent to our fabrication area is a spacious showroom, where clients can immerse themselves in the world of natural stone. Here, they can examine full-sized examples of kitchen, bath, and furniture applications, creating a tangible connection to the possibilities. Our comprehensive collection showcases a variety of natural stone types including marble, granite, slate, travertine, onyx, limestone, and specialty stones.

Alpine Granite Accents actively participates in the local community, holding memberships in esteemed organizations such as the Bitterroot Chamber of Commerce, the Missoula Building Association, the Bitterroot Building Industry Association, the National Association of Homebuilders, the Marble Institute of America, and the National Federation of Independent Businesses. Our commitment to excellence has been recognized, earning the prestigious Montana Small Business Administration Young Entrepreneur of the Year award in 2006.

Our Process

We believe in transparency and guiding our clients through each step of the process. Our experts advise you to begin your selection process three months in advance to allow ample time for exploration, material sourcing, and fabrication. We pride ourselves on using only Grade A stone for our projects, with slabs averaging 50 to 65 square feet of usable material and weighing up to 1,000 pounds. To ensure accuracy and minimize waste, we charge solely for the finished product. Upon receipt of a 50% deposit, your project is scheduled, and our team proceeds to order your chosen material. Once your cabinetry is installed, we create a precise full-size plastic template or utilize our advanced laser templating machine to guarantee a perfect fit.

The estimated timeframe from template creation to installation is approximately two to three weeks, followed by the meticulous installation by a minimum of two trained artisans. Our team seals the stone surfaces as needed, leaving you with a flawless and enduring work of art.
