Pakistani Rugs

Our collection of rugs from Pakistan are hand-knotted in the northern cities of Peshawar, Lahore, and Islamabad. The weavers are skilled craftsmen, able to reproduce many types of handmade rugs. Quality wool, a tight knotting system, and natural dyes or non-abrasive chromium (synthetic) dyes are used. These types of dyes do not harm the natural wool fibers. Many of the designs are adaptations of traditional Persian decorative and tribal rugs. Handmade rugs are one of Pakistan's leading exports. Persian Rugs

Known for their beauty, Persian rugs are woven throughout Iran, where weaving has been practiced for over 2,500 years. Many of the patterns or styles of the rugs are named after either the city, town, village or province where woven, and some are known by the name of the weavers' ethnic grouping.
