Our Story

The Wautoma Rental Center's journey began in 1990 with Wade Pennau establishing HobbyTown USA under the name J.W. Enterprises Inc. of Wautoma. Recognizing the potential for diversification, in 1993, the company acquired Sir Luster Car Wash, expanding its footprint in the city. A year later, with an adjacent shop built to serve as a complete auto detail center, a pivotal suggestion led to a transformative shift. Local contractor Jim Stafford proposed renting out the center's tools, recognizing a need in the community. This vision took root, and by 1996, the business had transitioned from car detailing and fully embraced its new identity as the Wautoma Rental Center.

Since then, the Wautoma Rental Center has persistently expanded its facilities, adding an impressive array of services and rental items to cater to the growing needs of the community. A key moment arrived in 2000 with the acquisition of a portable toilet company, marking the birth of their Porta-Potty Rental service. Further demonstrating their commitment to comprehensive solutions, they introduced Septic Pumping Services in 2003, solidifying their position as a one-stop shop for equipment and service needs.

In addition to their diverse rental offerings, the Wautoma Rental Center pride themselves on being a full-line Stihl dealership. They offer a wide selection of top-quality Stihl products, including chain saws, weed trimmers, leaf blowers, and more, catering to both professional and homeowner needs.
