Nursery School Of The Nyacks

The Nursery School of the Nyacks (NSN) is a parent-developed and -operated school that provides a nurturing and inclusive environment for children aged 2-5 to grow and develop. Our story began with a group of local parents who wanted to create a school that would cater to each child's individual developmental needs and progress. As a cooperative nursery school, we believe in the importance of family involvement in all aspects of the school's functioning.

Our Philosophy

Our philosophy is centered around preserving the magic of childhood by allowing children's natural sense of wonder to nurture them and their interest in the world around them. We believe in teaching children how to think, not what to think, and our experienced teachers act as facilitators or guides who bring expertise and knowledge of child development into the classroom. Social development is central to our philosophy, and we partner with parents to support each child's unique development.

Our Programs

We offer a range of programs for children aged 2-5, including nursery school classes, summer play programs, and enrollment opportunities. Our curriculum encourages children to reach their full potential and helps to prepare them for their future kindergarten experience. Our programs are designed to be developmentally appropriate, and we value the whole child by using a curriculum that is emergent rather than pre-established.

We offer affordable tuition rates for our nursery school programs, and we believe that every child deserves access to quality early childhood education. Our tuition rates are competitive, and we offer a 10% sibling discount.
