At Dennis Gates, Mental Health LLC, we believe that your mental health is a priority, your happiness is essential, and your self-care is a necessity. As a graduate of the University of Maryland Psychiatric Nurse program and an ANCC Board Certified Practitioner, our founder, Dennis Gates, has been practicing since 2013 and has worked exclusively in outpatient settings. His experience is in general psychiatry, including the management of Anxiety, Depression, Bipolar Disorder, and ADHD.

Dennis is culturally competent and sensitive to each and every individual need, regardless of religion, sexual preference, or race. He is originally from a small town in Ohio and is also an Army Veteran, having served 4 years active duty stationed out of Ft. Belvoir. This is what brought him to the DMV area, which he loves. While active duty, he went to NOVA (Northern Virginia Community College) and obtained an Associate's Degree during the first 2 years of enlistment. Once he completed his time in the service, he went back home to complete his Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from Wright State University. He returned to the DMV to work in critical care at Virginia Hospital Center before transitioning to Mental Health.

Our Services

We offer a variety of services to cater to the diverse needs of our clients. These include:

1. Telepsychiatry Services: We offer Monday, Wednesday, and Friday appointments available from 9am-4pm. Our telepsychiatry services provide an accessible and convenient way for clients to receive mental health care from the comfort of their own homes.

2. Full Psychiatric Evaluation: A thorough psycho-social assessment to assess for medication management. This comprehensive evaluation helps us understand the client's mental health needs and develop a tailored treatment plan.

3. Medication Management: Provided for a full range of mental health disparities to include the following: Anxiety, Depression, Bipolar Disorder, and ADHD. Our medication management services ensure that clients receive the appropriate medication and dosage to manage their symptoms effectively.

4. Complete Inclusive Focus: This practice services a wide range of people to include LGBTQIA community, working professionals, children, as well as the Medicaid community. We believe that everyone deserves access to quality mental health care, regardless of their background or circumstances.

5. Certificates for Medical Cannabis: This practice is able to provide certificates for medical cannabis in Maryland and District of Columbia. We understand the potential benefits of medical cannabis for certain mental health conditions and are committed to providing our clients with the necessary certifications.

Please download and sign the following: HIPAA Consent for Treatment Form, Fees and Policies Form, and Credit Card authorization form. You can submit this information through our form on the website.

Resources

We offer various resources to help our clients manage their mental health effectively. These include:

1. Initial Consultations: We offer a one-hour consultation appointment to each new client. This is also a chance to ask any questions you may have about medication management. If interested, please contact us through our form to set up a consultation.

2. Insurance: We accept Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Carefirst, Cigna, MD Medicaid, Tricare Non-Network Provider. We understand the importance of insurance coverage for mental health services and are committed to working with our clients to ensure they receive the maximum benefits available.
