Our Story

Hatteras Island Pet Resort has been a beloved destination for pets on the southern Outer Banks of North Carolina since 2004. Established from humble beginnings as a small, single-person kennel, we have grown to offer a comprehensive range of services for dogs and cats, including boarding, day boarding, crate rentals, retail, and salon services. Our dedicated team of five, including owner Sabrina Hatfield, is comprised of passionate animal lovers committed to providing exceptional care and ensuring that every pet feels comfortable, welcome, and cherished.

Our knowledgeable and compassionate staff is always available to attend to your pet's every need, ensuring they feel loved, safe, and secure throughout their stay.

Elaine, our manager, is a lifelong resident of Hatteras Island who discovered her true calling in pet care after a successful career in property management. Her warmth, patience, and ability to connect with even the most challenging dogs make her a true asset to our team.

Meg, our dedicated pet care specialist, brings a wealth of experience from the restaurant industry, where she learned the importance of providing exceptional customer service. Her gentle touch, soothing voice, and endless supply of treats instantly put our furry guests at ease.
