Unplug, Unwind, Unleash Your Potential!
Four Winds * Westward Ho is a summer camp located on Orcas Island in northwestern Washington State. Our camp is a haven for young people to unplug from technology and embrace camp traditions. Music, poetry, vintage uniforms, and a focus on inner growth make Four Winds truly unique.
Our Philosophy
At Four Winds, we believe that summer camp should be a time for children to disconnect from technology and reconnect with nature, themselves, and others. We strive to create a community that values simplicity, creativity, and community. Our goal is to provide a safe and supportive environment where children can grow, learn, and thrive.
Our Programs
Our summer camp programs are designed to provide a fun and engaging experience for children of all ages. We offer a range of activities, including sailing, swimming, arts and crafts, and team sports. Our programs are tailored to meet the needs of each age group, from junior campers to leadership training programs. We also offer financial aid to ensure that every child has the opportunity to attend camp, regardless of their family's financial situation.
Our Activities
A typical day at Four Winds is filled with a variety of activities, including sailing on our 61' yawl, Carlyn, swimming in the crystal-clear waters of the San Juan Islands, and exploring the woods and fields of our 100-acre property. We also offer a range of creative activities, such as music, poetry, and arts and crafts. In the evening, we gather around the campfire to share stories, sing songs, and enjoy each other's company.
Our Leadership and Staff
Our leadership team is dedicated to providing a safe and supportive environment for all campers. Our staff is made up of experienced and trained individuals who are passionate about working with children. We have a staff-to-camper ratio of 1:3, ensuring that every child receives the attention and care they need.
Our Campus and Location
Our campus is located on 100 acres of beautiful woods, fields, and waterfront on Orcas Island in northwestern Washington State. Our property is the perfect setting for forming an appreciation and respect for nature. We also have a range of facilities, including cabins, dining halls, and activity spaces, to support our programs and activities.
Giving Back
As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, we are committed to giving back to our community. We reserve 20% of our camper spots for families that need financial aid, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to attend camp, regardless of their family's financial situation. We also rely on donations to support our programs and activities.
