ETS Engineering and Testing Solutions, LLC (ETS) was founded in 1999 by Michael Whaley, P.E., and Chad Smock, P.E., both licensed professional engineers with decades of experience in providing geotechnical and construction testing services. Our offices are located in Knoxville and Sevierville, Tennessee, with laboratories equipped for soil and material testing, concrete testing, and storage/maintenance areas for our geotechnical drilling equipment. We are certified by the State of Tennessee Governor's Office of Diversity Business Enterprise (DBE) and accredited by the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Official (AASHTO). Our team includes experienced drillers and engineering technicians certified by the American Concrete Institute (ACI) and the National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET). Our firm's qualifications and experience, along with our established quality assurance procedures, have been instrumental in the successful completion of numerous projects in the greater Knoxville area and surrounding region of east Tennessee.

Services

Our services include subsurface explorations, geotechnical drilling, concrete testing, soil compaction testing, foundation inspection and design, sinkhole remediation, and IBC special inspections. We are equipped to perform soil borings for subsurface explorations, standard penetration testing, rock coring, undisturbed and bulk sampling, and slope stability assessments. Our construction testing services include registered engineers, NICET/ACI certified technicians, and testing equipment calibrated to ASTM standards. Additionally, we offer engineering services such as subsurface exploration, geotechnical reports, foundation observations, and retaining wall design.
