At Double M Schuster Barn, we're dedicated to providing a unique and unforgettable experience for your special day. Nestled in the heart of Livingston County, our rustic wedding barn venue offers a picturesque setting that will make your wedding dreams come true. Our story began in 1983 as a family-owned farm, and after a tornado-strength wind destroyed our barn's roof, we decided to rebuild and repurpose it as a wedding and event venue.

Our Story

The farm was originally established by Mark J. and Margaret M. Schuster in April 1983, where they raised 20 cows and eventually grew to 70 cows in the following years. The farm was a central part of their children's lives, involving them in daily activities until the cows were sold in 2003. In 2007, a tornado-strength wind destroyed the barn's roof, but the family rebuilt it. However, it remained idle until their daughter Meghan got engaged in 2013 and expressed her wish to have her wedding reception on the family farm. This sparked a new life for the farm, and it was transformed into the Double M Schuster Barn, a wedding and event venue.

Our Services

At Double M Schuster Barn, we offer a comprehensive range of services to ensure that your special day is nothing short of perfect. Our 40' x 100' barn can accommodate up to 225 guests, plus a large catering staff. Inside, you'll find the original corner granary converted into a prep room for catering services, complete with refrigerators, a kegerator, a large sink area, and plenty of power outlets.

Our venue features a stunning 30-foot L-shaped bar made from a 165-year-old white oak tree from our woods, surrounded by a live-edge design. The bar area is illuminated by two large wagon wheel chandeliers suspended by antique hay unloaders, and two full-length strings of party lights crisscross the ceiling. The lighting can be dimmed to exact your desired effect for dining or dancing.

Outside, you'll find a large lawn area suitable for setting up a tent or mingling with guests. Connected to the barn is a 75-foot deck made from white oak sawed from our own woodlot, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside. We also have a picturesque pond next to the woodlot, providing a beautiful private area for a wedding ceremony or taking pictures.

We've thought of everything to make your event planning easier, including tables and chairs for your special event. We also allow you to select a caterer of your choice, and we're happy to recommend some of our preferred vendors.
