Main Street UMC Preschool

Since 1964, Main Street UMC Preschool has been providing a safe, healthy, and loving environment for children in our community. Founded on the principle of the "Golden Rule, " our preschool has been a cornerstone of early childhood education in Kernersville, NC. Our dedicated staff and volunteers have worked tirelessly to ensure that each child in our care receives the best possible start in their educational journey.

Our Mission and Values

Our mission is to provide a high-quality Christian early childhood program that nurtures the social, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual growth of each child. We believe that every moment is a learning moment and strive to create enriching experiences that foster a love of learning and a strong foundation for future success.

Our Curriculum and Programs

Our curriculum begins in our infant room and builds through to our Pre-K program for 4 and 5 year olds. We offer a variety of programs and classes designed to meet the needs of each child at their developmental stage. Our classes are enriched with music class once a week, Chapel time, visits from police officers, firefighters, musicians, and baby animals to name a few. Our programs include:

• Parent's Morning Out: A once-a-week drop-in program for children under the age of three.
• Two-year old classes: Our two-year old classes are designed to help children learn to be a part of a class, with circle time activities including songs, stories, and games.
• Three-year old classes: Our three-year old classes build on the foundations laid in the two-year old classes, with a greater emphasis on socialization, language development, and early literacy skills.
• Pre-K classes: Our Pre-K classes prepare children for kindergarten, with a focus on pre-reading, math, and writing skills, as well as social and emotional development.
