A passion for motorcycles is something all of us at The Motocycle Shop enjoy sharing with other riding enthusiasts. The owners of The Motocycle Shop began riding in their teen or preteen years and continue to enjoy riding a variety of motorcycles today. Still owning our first bike, we harbor secret plans to restore that historic machine to ride again in its former glory. As much as we love new, modern high tech motorcycles, many of our staff own machines older than we are. Being Avid riders, we are also happy to share our knowledge and experience with riding products we know and use ourselves.
The Motocycle Shop was opened by Nancy and Doug in January 1994, with Megan's help. Initially, they sold new Moto Guzzi motorcycles and used bikes in their downtown site. Soon, they added Velorex sidecars, Jawa mopeds, and CZ and MZ motorcycles. The current building was built in 1995. In 1997, they started selling new Suzuki motorcycles and ATVs as well. Doug says, "It was a big change in our lives. We have always been a small shop with the basic four of us here from the start." In 2018, they decided to spin off the NEW unit sales and concentrate on quality used and vintage machines.
Most visitors are surprised to find so many Moto Guzzi motorcycles under one roof. We also have a unique blend of quality used motorcycles. The folk at The Motocycle Shop try to provide a unique and memorable experience for their customers, whether buying a motorcycle or a pair of riding gloves, receiving first-class service, or just talking "bikes."
