Services Offered

At Clay Cafe Hawaii, we offer a range of services designed to meet the needs of our customers. Whether you are looking for a fun and relaxing activity for the whole family, a unique venue for a special event, or a place to explore your artistic side, we have something for everyone.

• Pottery Painting: Our main offering is the opportunity to paint your own pottery. We have a wide selection of bisque ware, including plates, mugs, bowls, figurines, and more. You can choose a piece that speaks to you and then let your creativity flow. Our knowledgeable staff is always on hand to offer guidance and support, but ultimately, the finished product is entirely up to you.
• Art Supplies: We offer a range of art supplies for those who want to create their own designs. Whether you are an experienced artist or a novice, we have the tools you need to bring your vision to life. From pencils and erasers to paintbrushes and palettes, we have it all.
• Classes & Parties: While we are temporarily not offering classes or parties, we hope to resume these offerings in the future. In the past, we have offered a variety of classes and workshops for both kids and adults, as well as party packages for special occasions. We believe that art is best enjoyed in a social setting, and we look forward to once again offering these opportunities for community and connection.

How It Works

Painting your own pottery at Clay Cafe Hawaii is easy and fun. Here's how it works:

1. Choose a piece of bisque ware that speaks to you.

2. Sketch your design lightly, keeping in mind that dark backgrounds work best for lighter colors and light backgrounds work best for darker colors.

3. Paint your design, starting with lighter colors and working your way towards darker ones. Black should always be last, as it can cover any mistakes.

4. Do three coats of each color for the best results. The paint dries quickly, so you can move on to the next coat once the previous one is dry.

5. Rinse your brush between colors and dry it on a paper towel before dipping it into the next color.

6. Clean up is easy - simply use a wet rag to wipe off any paint on surfaces and return any unused paints or brushes to get your rental deposits back.

In addition to our pottery painting and art supplies, we are now serving a variety of coffees, teas, smoothies, and more. Whether you need a caffeine boost to get your creative juices flowing or you want to relax and enjoy a refreshing beverage while you paint, we have something for everyone.

Location & Hours

Clay Cafe Hawaii is located on the 2nd floor of the McCully Shopping Center at 1960 Kapiolani Blvd., #208 in Honolulu, HI 96826. Our hours are Sunday, Monday, Thursday: 10am - 6pm; Tuesday: 10am - 1pm*; Friday & Saturday: 10am - 8pm; and Wednesday: CLOSED. *Open 7 days a week during most major school breaks - please call for more information. We are closed on Easter Sunday, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Years Eve, and New Years Day. Reservations are recommended, and can be made by calling us at 808-589-1808. A $25 deposit (per 4 person table) is required at time of call, and no online/email reservations are accepted.
