Welcome to Pumpkin Ridge Animal Sanctuary - Home for Rescued Animals
Pumpkin Ridge Animal Sanctuary was founded in 2000 as Equestrian Ridge Farm, initially operating as a horseback riding, boarding, and training facility. Our journey took a transformative turn during the Great Recession of 2008 - 2009 when we began rescuing animals whose owners could no longer care for them. Over two decades, we have rehabilitated dozens of animals, evolving into a 100% nonprofit 501(c)(3) sanctuary in 2024. Our mission prioritizes the well-being of rescued horses, goats, pigs, dogs, cats, and chickens, offering them a permanent, loving home. We combine animal rescue with public engagement through donation-based horse rides and farm visits, ensuring every experience directly supports our cause.Funded exclusively by donations, we rely on community generosity to sustain our operations and expand our impact. Our teams deep commitment to animal welfare and rehabilitation reflects our belief that every creature deserves compassion and care. Located in the Hocking Hills region of Ohio, we invite visitors to connect with our animals and witness the transformative power of rescue and rehabilitation. By choosing Pumpkin Ridge, supporters become part of a legacy of kindness that spans generations. We remain dedicated to transparency, ethical practices, and fostering a sanctuary where animals thrive and humans find inspiration.
