Our Story

The Jankowski Insurance Agency, Inc. has been a trusted name in insurance for over seven decades. Founded in 1949 by John W. Jankowski, the agency began as a small real estate brokerage operating out of his home at 14 First Avenue in Broadalbin, New York. Driven by a commitment to providing excellent service, John expanded his expertise into insurance in 1956, forging a path for a future generations within the family business.

James Jankowski, John's son, joined the agency in 1969, further solidifying the family legacy. Together, they relocated the business to its current location at 7 West Main Street, where it has served the community for over 50 years. This commitment to stability and local presence has been a cornerstone of the agency's success, allowing them to build strong relationships and become a valuable resource for generations of families and businesses.

In 1980, the agency took ownership of the building, demonstrating their enduring dedication to the Broadalbin community. The agency's growth and commitment to excellence led to its incorporation in 1985, officially establishing the Jankowski Insurance Agency, Inc. as a leading force in the local insurance landscape.

Over the years, the agency has welcomed talented individuals who share their dedication to customer service and comprehensive insurance solutions. Debbie Kearns joined in 1989, bringing her administrative expertise to ensure smooth operations. Katrina Owens, a seasoned insurance professional, joined in 2004, further strengthening the agency's knowledge base and customer support capabilities.

Alicia Elmendorf brought eight years of insurance experience to the agency in 2019, while Diane Phibbs, a seasoned professional with 24 years in the industry, joined in 2022, adding valuable expertise to the team. Just recently, Joshua Jankowski joined the family business in 2024, carrying the tradition forward with his fresh perspective and three years of experience.
