The Alaska Mental Health Consumer Web is a unique, recovery-based organization offering a supportive and inclusive environment for individuals navigating mental health challenges and substance abuse. Founded by and for those with lived experience, we provide a platform of empowerment, connection, and hope.
Our Mission
Our mission is to empower individuals to achieve their full potential, live their lives to the fullest, and become active members of their communities. We achieve this through:
- Peer-driven support: Offering peer mentoring, support groups, and guided workshops led by individuals with lived experience.
- Community involvement: Connecting people with opportunities to engage in meaningful activities and contribute to their communities.
- Resource navigation: Providing guidance and assistance in accessing essential services and benefits.
1. Peer-Mentorship
- One-on-one support from trained and certified peer mentors with lived experience in recovery.
- Support with goal setting, overcoming challenges, and building life skills.
2. Support Groups
- Safe and welcoming spaces for sharing experiences, building connection, and finding strength in shared challenges.
- Groups for various issues such as substance abuse recovery, depression, anxiety, and trauma.
3. Peer-Led Workshops
- Creative and educational workshops covering topics such as art therapy, mindfulness practices, and financial empowerment.
- Opportunities to learn new skills and develop personal growth strategies.
4. Community Involvement
- Regular volunteer opportunities in various areas to contribute to the community.
