Our Quality Will Enhance Your Patients Dental Experience.

Our Story

At Thomson Dental Laboratory, we take pride in creating stress-free restorations that exceed your patients' expectations. With over 80 years of combined experience in the dental laboratory industry, our team is dedicated to providing personalized service and exceptional quality control. Our infrastructure and systems are tailored to fit the unique needs of your office, ensuring seamless communication and efficient workflows.

Our Philosophy

Our goal is to give you confidence in every restoration through direct communication with our lab manager, applying your preferences to each crown, and ensuring we maintain our superior quality. We strive to treat our doctors as individuals and provide that personal touch that makes your lab experience seamless. Our expertise and advanced technology allow us to provide the best in personalized service, ensuring that your patients receive the highest level of care.

Services

We offer a wide range of services, including:

Superior Quality Control

At TDL, we communicate with the lab manager directly over every aspect of your crown, avoiding confusion and providing a more reliable product. With our Report Card System, you can provide feedback on each restoration, which helps us formulate your own preference list. Consistent results give you confidence when seating a crown every time.

Advanced Model System

We use the S-Base Model System, which we have found to be the most stable, accurate, and effective model system available. All of our restorations are mounted to a Virtual Semi-Adjustable Articulator and a Functionally Generated Path Articulator, eliminating excursive interferences.

New Age Materials

We are excited to offer Illuzion Esthetic Zirconia, an amazing new material that offers superior esthetics, strength, and affordability compared to traditional materials. With TDL, you will always have access to the newest Zirconia material offered.

Scanned Impressions

We accept scan files from any type of scanning system, saving you $35 to $45 in impression materials per crown. Save your patients from the discomfort of traditional impressions!

Increased Crown Accuracy

Thanks to the advances of digital technology, the precision fit of our crowns is better than ever. Our articulating system allows for fewer excursive interferences and provides a more consistently accurate crown.

Excellent Implants

We offer cement or screw-retain ridge lap or sanitary anti-rotation design implants with a 12-day turnaround.

System for Success

With these guidelines, we can guarantee a perfect-fitting crown and a pleasant experience for your patients! Follow these steps for a stress-free restoration experience:

Prep

  • Prep must be a chamfer margin.
  • Parallel the proximal contacts of the adjacent teeth when necessary.
  • No sharp edges or corners.
  • Take a separate bite in addition to the triple tray.
  • Confirm proper occlusal reduction.

Impressions

  • Use Ultradent impressions, specifically the Fast Set Medium for filling the tray and the Fast Set Super Light for injecting around margins.
  • Scanning systems like Itero and Sirona are also accepted.

Shade

  • Take the shade first, so that the teeth do not dry out.
  • Use the Rite Light 2 color-corrected light wand to ensure consistent shade results.

Anterior Crowns

  • Take a pre-op impression that includes at least the 2nd bicuspids, if not a full arch.
  • This provides a more accurate starting point for length, angle, and incisal edge position.

Esthetic Zirconia

  • We recommend using Esthetic Zirconia unless gold or PFM is necessary.
  • If the prep has a chamfer margin and an accurate impression, we can promise a perfect fit.

Crown Under a Partial

  • Take a traditional impression with the partial in place.
  • Verify there is only a thin film of impression material between the partial and the ridge.

Monitor and Communicate

  • We communicate directly with our lab manager/technician over every aspect of each restoration.
  • A Report Card will be included with each crown, allowing you to provide feedback and help us create a restoration that suits your specific needs.
