Our Story

Treeo Tree Service has been a familiar name in the Indianapolis community for over four decades. Founded by Michael Goldfarb, a man who deeply loved trees and possessed a genuine passion for their care, Treeo's roots run deep in the city's history.

The origin of the name "Treeo" itself is a charming anecdote passed down through generations. It's said that Mike, after learning the art of tree care from a skilled mentor named Norm Olson, encountered an old truck belonging to "Olson Tree Co." The truck's signage, struck by lightning years ago, mysteriously lost its "C, " reading simply "Olson Tree o."

This fleeting moment somehow took root in Michael's mind, evolving into the playful slogan "Treeo, You, Me, and the Trees, " which perfectly embodied his commitment to building personal relationships with his clients and their beloved trees. Mike's warm demeanor and genuine care for both people and trees resonated strongly with the community, establishing Treeo as a trusted and reliable name in the industry.

Today, Ira Goldfarb, Mike's son, carries on this legacy of dedicated service. Armed with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science and his own Certified Arborist qualification, Ira aims to maintain the high standard of personalized care that customers have come to expect from Treeo. He strives to keep the family's original vision alive, treating each tree with the utmost respect and protecting the natural beauty of Indianapolis for generations to come.

Meet The Team

Ira Goldfarb, CEO

Ira has been a lifelong resident of Indianapolis, graduating from Ball State University with a degree in Environmental Science. His passion for trees began alongside his father's company, and after a rewarding career in stormwater quality, he joined Treeo full-time in 2015. He earned his Certified Arborist designation in 2017, further cementing his dedication to the company's mission. In his free time, Ira enjoys camping and hiking with his family, indulging in woodworking projects, and, of course, discussing all things trees.

Heath Callahan, Arborist

Heath brings over 20 years of experience in the tree care industry to the Treeo team. He is a Certified Arborist with 7 years of experience and holds a Tree Risk Assessment Qualification for 5 years. Heath's expertise extends to plant healthcare as well, making him a valuable asset in diagnosing and treating a variety of tree ailments.

When he's not tending to trees, Heath loves to spend time fishing, painting, and creating lasting memories with his son. His dedication to his craft and his deep-rooted passion for arboriculture align perfectly with Treeo's commitment to excellence.

Kobe Tavel, Arborist in Training

Kobe is a recent graduate of Indiana University, holding degrees in Environmental Management and Environmental Science. He is excited to begin his professional tree care journey with Treeo and is on track to earn his Certified Arborist certification in 2024.

In his spare time, Kobe enjoys mountain biking, playing chess, and spending quality time with his family and friends.

In addition to our certified arborists, Treeo employs a licensed applicator who is equally passionate about the health of your trees. We provide expert diagnosis and treatment for insect infestations, diseases, and other threats to your trees' well-being. Our team's vast knowledge and experience allow us to implement effective solutions to ensure your trees thrive for years to come.
