Our Instructors and Our History

Founded by Chief Instructor Kyoshi Noah Mitchell, Mountain Stream Budo boasts experienced instructors with extensive knowledge in their respective martial arts. Led by Kyoshi Mitchell, a 7th-degree black belt in karate and certified teacher of kobudo and iaido, the school fosters a supportive and inclusive environment where students of all ages and abilities can learn and grow.

Our Martial Arts Offerings

Karate: Learn self-defense, striking and blocking techniques, as well as kata (forms) and kumite (sparring) in the traditional Okinawan Shotokan style.

Kobudo: Embrace the use of traditional Okinawan weapons like the bokken (wooden sword) and sai (telescopic staff) to develop your skills in defensive tactics.

Jujitsu: Master grappling techniques, joint locks, and choking submissions to confidently defend yourself against armed and unarmed attackers.

Iaido: Develop precision and mindfulness through the graceful drawn, cutting, and sheathing of the Japanese sword.
