Award-Winning Kitchen Design Services in Bala Cynwyd, PA
Our mission at Main Line Kitchen Design is to provide Delaware Valley homeowners with expert kitchen design services and competitively priced cabinetry. We operate from Bala Cynwyd, Pennsylvania, under the direction of Paul McAlary, an internationally recognized designer with more than a dozen local and national awards. Our work focuses on developing kitchen arrangements that balance appearance with everyday usefulness. Whether a homeowner is planning an extensive renovation or replacing an inefficient existing layout, we evaluate cabinet placement, countertops, appliances, and flooring as interconnected design considerations. We offer cabinetry from eight nationally distributed manufacturers, giving our clients access to multiple styles and construction options. Our project experience includes residential remodels, new cabinet installations, redesigned islands, and improved kitchen configurations.Personalized appointments are fundamental to our approach. We begin by visiting the residence, gathering measurements, and discussing what the homeowner wants to accomplish. Our designers then prepare preliminary computer drawings that can be evaluated and modified during a follow-up meeting. With an agreed-upon direction, we proceed to detailed kitchen planning and product selections. Customers visiting our offices can examine cabinet construction beneath glass countertops, browse extensive door and finish samples, and see three-dimensional renderings of their proposed kitchens. Maintaining an appointment-only operation reduces unnecessary showroom expenses, helping us provide professional design attention alongside favorable prices for custom and semi-custom cabinetry.

Each project begins with a modest deposit, followed by extensive measuring and preliminary design work that helps us devote appropriate attention to every customer.
Cabinet Sales
Our kitchen cabinet offerings include eight nationally distributed brands chosen for affordability, craftsmanship, and worthwhile upgrades. We provide framed and frameless designs in numerous wood species, including birch, cherry, mahogany, and exotic varieties. Each line features solid wood dovetail drawers and full-extension soft-close tracks. By avoiding large showroom expenses, we offer quality cabinetry at competitive prices.
Countertop Brands
Our countertop selection brings together seven recognized manufacturers offering distinctive materials and design possibilities. Cambria provides American-made quartz, while Silestone incorporates premium minerals and recycled materials. Viatera, Colorquartz, and MSI present additional quartz options with diverse finishes and patterns. We also carry Corian and Wilsonart solid surfaces for customers seeking flexibility in appearance and design.
Kitchen Design Process
We design kitchens with an emphasis on maximizing functionality while helping customers allocate their budgets effectively. Our designers begin with a complimentary telephone consultation before arranging professional in-home measurements. We then develop detailed three-dimensional designs through several appointments. Cabinetry purchases include our design services, and applicable deposits are deducted from the final cabinet cost.

Working with Jeremy from Main Line Kitchen Design has been an outstanding experience. As a general contractor at Harrington Contracting, I value precision, clear communication, and high-quality design. Jeremy consistently delivers on all fronts. His designs are not only aesthetically beautiful but also technically sound and well-thought-out, which makes our job on-site much smoother.
He is incredibly professional, responsive to questions, and truly understands the nuances of the installation process. I highly recommend Jeremy to anyone looking for a top-tier kitchen designer.

I recently completed a full kitchen gut renovation for my first home, and I couldn't be happier with how it turned out. Paul was our designer and his expertise made all the difference.
From the start, Paul took the time to understand how I wanted to use the space and what my desired aesthetic was and then translated that into a design that's both stunning and incredibly functional. This was no small feat for a first-time kitchen remodel where I didn't fully know what to even ask for. Every detail feels intentional, something that is essential for a small NYC kitchen.
What really stood out was how attentive Paul was throughout the entire process, patiently answering my (many) questions and guiding me through decisions I'd never had to make before (or even expected that I would need to make!). Even my contractor, who's done plenty of kitchen remodels, specifically complimented the quality of Paul's design.
If you're considering a kitchen renovation, whether as a seasoned homeowner or as a first-time homeowner, I can't recommend Paul and Main Line Kitchen Design enough. Truly a five-star experience from start to finish.

From design to execution, MLKD was there every step of the way. Working with our designer, Ed was an easy and natural experience. He provided input, but also let us have our voice in the creative process. The kitchen came out beautifully, and we love cooking and entertaining in it everyday!

We were very happy with Main Line, especially their responsiveness to issues with the doors after the fact! One of our cabinet doors was warped and Chris Rossetti immediately swung by, determined it was covered under warranty and got a new one ordered. He even reordered it a second time after determining that the stain color was not satisfactory (I didn't even notice the difference until he pointed it out!)
We went with a more base-level product for our laundry room because we thought it was worth spending the 'big bucks' on custom inset cabinets in our kitchen, but the laundry room cabinets honestly have such a 'wow' factor and our experience with Main Line was much much better than with Village Handcrafted, where we got the kitchen cabinets. Quality is better and service is far superior.

I first met Paul about 15 years ago when he designed a complete kitchen remodel for my home in Narberth. From the very beginning, it was clear that he brought not only exceptional expertise to his work, but also an extraordinary level of dedication, thoughtfulness, and generosity. He genuinely cares about creating spaces that are both beautiful and functional, and he pours himself into every project.
Over the years, I’ve hired Paul several more times. One of those projects was a very high-end kitchen in another home with a particularly challenging layout. Because the stakes felt so high, I consulted with several designers before making my decision. In the end, I knew I was going to choose Paul—and I’m so glad I did. His design was by far the strongest, and the finished kitchen exceeded every expectation I had. To this day, it’s one of my favorite spaces.
Most recently, Paul designed the kitchen for one of my rental properties, and once again, he absolutely knocked it out of the park. His guidance was invaluable. What I love about working with Paul is that he never thinks only about the kitchen. He naturally sees the whole home and generously shares ideas for improving every space, always balancing beauty, function, and value. His input consistently makes the entire house better.
Paul is one of those rare people whose talent is matched by his integrity, generosity, and commitment. His creativity, attention to detail, and ability to solve even the most challenging design problems are truly exceptional. I trust his judgment completely, and I can honestly say there is no one else I would want designing a kitchen for me. I recommend him with absolute confidence and enthusiasm.

We had an outstanding experience with Main Line Kitchen Design from start to finish. Their team demonstrated exceptional project management, clear and consistent communication, and a genuine commitment to quality. They stayed closely involved throughout the process, checking in regularly and ensuring the contractor’s work met their high standards.
Paul, one of the designers, brought deep expertise and creativity to the project. He consistently offered thoughtful, innovative solutions that elevated both the look and functionality of our kitchen. This is in my opinion what truly sets Main Line Kitchen apart: their ability to strike the perfect balance between a beautiful design and a highly functional kitchen and workspace. They also respected the project timeline, which we greatly appreciated. We couldn’t be happier with the result and highly recommend them.

We recently renovated our kitchen, dining room, and mudroom. We selected Main Line Kitchen Design based on a family member’s recent outstanding kitchen remodel (different designer). We were assigned to Jeremy who was very patient and pleasant to work with on our project. He helped guide the design in a way to maximize our smaller footprint in a manner that did not feel cookie cutter or forced (I.e. an island where there was clearly no room to do so). The showroom is pretty basic but plenty cabinet options to choose from there. Our counters came from recommended vendor, and that process was also uncomplicated and not stressful. We appreciated that the Main Line team carefully documented and measured before construction. Even with the diligent prep, there was a problem with one of the corner drawers opening after hardware installation. We were fortunate this was our only true hiccup in this project. The company was very quick to come up with a solution. Despite having to wait a few extra weeks to iron everything out, we were able to experience and enjoy our new space. We truly didn’t realize how limited our space was until it was reimagined. Thank you Jeremy and MLKD team for your hard work and expertise!

Mainline Kitchen was great. We were stumped as to how to incorporate an island in our narrow space. Designer Doug
Mottershead figured out a great island that seats a lot of bodies. He also steered us to cabinets we could get quickly as we had a wedding coming up. He measured and ordered and provided guidance on some tricky construction details. It all worked out and would definitely use this company again.

We had a great experience with Jeremy at Mainline Kitchen design! When we moved in to our house 10 years ago, we knew that we needed to renovate at some point given the poor layout, deteriorating particle board countertop and drooping drawers. Concerned about the downtime, it wasn't until last year when we decided to bite the bullet and start this project. Jeremy was easy to work with, and we love the design and layout. The contractor he had recommended was responsive, knowledgeable, and kept to the timeline. We are really enjoying our new kitchen. Thanks to Mainline Kitchen, our experience was tremendously smoother than we had feared!

We are so happy with our new kitchen from MLKD. We had a very outdated kitchen that was way overdue for a change. Jeremy did a fantastic job with the design and layout. The old dingy space is now light and bright and so well appointed, with very minimal structural changes. Communication was good-everything was easy. Would highly recommend them!
