At West Memphis Fence & Construction, we take pride in our long-standing tradition of quality and excellence. Our journey began in 1967 when Pat Turns and Bill Bius founded our company under the name Hurricane Fence. In 1968, we decided to change our name to better reflect the scope of our work, and thus West Memphis Fence & Construction, Inc. was born.
Our company started to gain momentum with the arrival of The Austin Company in Memphis, which led to our involvement in installing fences for various prisons, Tunica Casinos, Memphis International Airport projects, Auto Off-Load Facilities, and many other high-security projects. We also had the opportunity to work on large school projects in the Tri-State area, including sports complexes, ornamental fencing for various schools, and protective fencing for utility areas around various schools.
Over the years, we've earned a reputation for our commitment to quality and reliability, which has made us well-known by the general contractors in the Memphis area. We've completed numerous projects for them, and they can attest to the high standards we uphold. Our services extend beyond the Memphis area, as we've successfully completed projects all over the United States.
In 1987, Bill's oldest son, Steven Bius, joined the company, and he was followed by his youngest son, Jason Bius, in 1998. Both sons have continued to contribute to the company's success, with Steven serving as President of the Memphis Tri-State Fence Association, Vice-President of the National American Fence Association, and eventually becoming the President of the National American Fence Association in 2005. He has also served on the Board of Governors.
Today, West Memphis Fence is a family-oriented business with a strong team consisting of seven estimators, an office manager, two office assistants, two full-time mechanics, three job superintendents, and thirty-five fence installers. Our fleet includes fifteen trucks, eight bobcats, four compressors, four mixers, and two delivery trucks.
