Our Story

Orange County Animal Clinic has a rich history rooted in a commitment to providing compassionate and high-quality veterinary care. Founded in 1975 by Dr. Larry Gaudreau, the clinic began humbly in the basement of his home. For five years, Dr. Gaudreau dedicated himself to serving the animal health needs of his community from this unique setting. Driven by a passion for veterinary medicine and a desire to expand his practice, Dr. Gaudreau made the move "to town" in 1980, establishing a more permanent and accessible location for his growing clientele.

Commitment to Excellence

As Dr. Gaudreau's practice flourished, Dr. Bradley K. Cooper, a native of Orleans, Indiana, cultivated his own interest in veterinary care. He began his journey by job shadowing and volunteering at the Animal Care Clinic in Salem, Indiana, while still a high school student. This early exposure solidified his interest in the field, leading him to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science at Purdue University after graduating from Orleans High School. Driven by his passion, Dr. Cooper then embarked on his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine studies at Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine, graduating in May 1997. This foundation of knowledge and experience paved the way for Dr. Cooper's journey as a veterinarian, starting with internships at Odon Veterinary Clinic and Salem Veterinary Clinic. His commitment to providing exceptional care led him to work alongside other veterinary professionals, eventually joining forces with Dr. Fred Froderman at Clear Lake Veterinary Hospital in Brazil, Indiana.

In September 2001, Dr. Cooper returned to his Orange County roots and joined Orange County Animal Clinic. The clinic quickly became Dr. Cooper's own in January 2002, marking the beginning of a new chapter for the practice.

Recognizing the need for a modern and expanded facility to continue delivering the highest standard of care, Dr. Cooper led the clinic's move to a newly constructed building in 2009. This new location, nestled between Orleans and Paoli on Highway 37 South, boasts state-of-the-art amenities, including spacious exam rooms, a full surgical suite, dedicated treatment areas, digital X-ray capabilities, in-house lab diagnostics, comfortable cage rooms, and dedicated areas for large animal care, including a large animal stall for hospitalization. This modern facility allows the clinic to provide comprehensive and advanced veterinary services to a wider range of animals.
