Our Philosophy
At Orleans Yoga, we believe in upholding classical principles while incorporating a contemporary approach to provide a meaningful and sustainable mind-body practice for all stages of life. Our philosophy centers on the idea that yoga should be accessible, purposeful, and adaptable to meet the unique needs of each individual. Through the exploration of both traditional and innovative techniques, we aim to empower our students to cultivate a deeper sense of awareness, balance, and well-being.
Founder and Owner: Petra Ledkovsky Van Aarem
Petra Ledkovsky van Aarem, E-RYT 500, developed her passion for yoga during her formative years on the beaches of Wellfleet and the Upper West Side of Manhattan. After experiencing the therapeutic benefits of yoga in 2002, she wholeheartedly pursued her path of study and ultimately felt called to teach. Petra founded Orleans Yoga in 2013 as a sanctuary for students to learn, grow, and benefit from the transformative practice of yoga. She continues her committed study with Tias and Surya Little of Prajna Yoga in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and has completed their 300-hour advanced certification program. Petra also holds certifications in Reformer Pilates I and II and has completed her Ropes & Slings yoga certification with back care specialist, Alison West.
Petra teaches a variety of weekly yoga classes, specialty workshops, and annual global retreats, incorporating a fusion of modern ingenuity and age-old wisdom. She offers private sessions in our smaller studio, equipped with Reformer Pilates apparatus and a yoga ropes wall, enabling personalized instruction tailored to individual needs.

OUR STORY
Established in 2013, Orleans Yoga has been dedicated to fostering a community that supports physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being through the practice of yoga. Our journey began as a response to a heartfelt calling to create a space that allows individuals to experience the myriad benefits of a safe and sound yoga practice. Since our inception, Orleans Yoga has welcomed students of all levels, guiding them on their unique paths towards greater harmony, strength, and self-awareness.
