Our Story

Nickel Obstetrics & Gynecology is a small, private practice in Tacoma, Washington serving the communities of University Place, Gig Harbor, Puyallup and beyond. Founded on individual patient care, our experienced physician and dedicated staff are committed to providing compassionate, personalized healthcare throughout each stage of life.

Our journey began in 1964 when Dr. Lueken established a thriving practice focused on compassionate care and personalized attention. This legacy continued when Dr. Richard Huish took the helm, serving the community for over 30 years. In 1986, Dr. Gary Nickel joined Dr. Huish, and together they built a reputation for comprehensive care and patient-centered approach.

In 2012, Dr. Adam Nickel, son of Dr. Gary Nickel, joined the practice and assumed ownership in 2013. Driven by a deep connection to the community, Dr. Adam Nickel perpetuates the tradition of personalized care and patient empowerment.
