At Texas Legal Services Center, we believe in empowering the underserved and promoting equal justice for all Texans. Founded in 1981, our nonprofit organization provides a wide range of services including legal advice, advocacy, representation, and education to those who need it most. With over a dozen practice areas, our work spans almost every aspect of civil law that impacts low-income Texans.

Our leadership team, comprised of dedicated professionals including Karen Miller, Kevin Dietz, Julian Honor, Cecile Carson, Sherrie Bornhorst, Amanda Hill, and Dooley Navarro, works tirelessly to ensure that our mission is upheld and that we continue to make a positive impact on the lives of those we serve.

What We Do

Our services are tailored to address the diverse needs of our clients, covering areas such as financial security, parental rights, education, self-representation, public service, social determinants of health, veterans' assistance, end-of-life planning, and challenging discrimination against people with disabilities. Whether it's helping clients achieve financial security through pension recovery or guiding parents through their legal rights, we are committed to providing high-quality legal assistance to those who cannot afford it.

We also engage with the greater public service community, working with interrelated organizations to teach the intersections between civil law, public benefits, healthcare, law enforcement, and more. This collaborative approach allows us to reach a wider audience and address the complex needs of our clients more effectively.
