Opelt Sand & Gravel LLC and G&S Trucking of Neillsville, Inc. are esteemed local businesses with a rich history that spans over 70 years. The journey began in 1947 when Carl Opelt, the founder, started the company with nothing but his horse and buggy. The business was then passed down to his sons, Gordon "Butch" Opelt and his brothers in 1972, marking the beginning of a new era. In 1984, Gordon and Scott Opelt established G&S Trucking to further expand the business, and in 1997, Butch's three sons, Scott, Mike, and Carl, took over the reins of Opelt Sand and Gravel and G&S Trucking. Over the years, the businesses have grown exponentially, and we now possess a fleet of over 16 semis and dump trucks, along with continually expanding gravel pits. Our recent operation of a pit in the Colby area has opened up new opportunities for material varieties and has enabled us to serve a larger customer base.
