The Home Builders Association of Durham, Orange, and Chatham Counties is a membership organization that supports the residential building industry. Our organization is dedicated to promoting the American dream of home ownership through education, advocacy, and professional development. We are committed to serving our members, the residential building community, and the communities we serve.

Our Mission

Our mission is to promote the American dream of home ownership through education, advocacy, and professional development. We strive to provide our members with the tools and resources needed to succeed in the residential building industry. We also aim to promote quality in our communities through active community service and to advocate for concern for the environment while supporting growth and development.

Our History

Our organization was charted in 1962, starting as a non-profit trade association affiliated with the North Carolina Home Builders Association and the National Association of Home Builders. Our goal has always been to provide service and representation to and for our members, contractors and associated professionals, in support of the building industry at large and in our area. We expanded in 2005 to incorporate the Chatham Homebuilders, Inc., and became what we are known as today - the HBADOC.

Membership Types

We have 4 different member types:

• Builders: Applies to all contractors, remodelers, and land developers
• Dues: $615.00 annually for Builder members who are joining the HBADOC for the first time and for annual renewals
• Associates: Applies to suppliers and vendors
• Dues: $250.00 annually for Associate members
• Builder Affiliates: Applies to companies with multiple offices or locations
• Dues: $615.00 annually for Builder Affiliate members who are joining the HBADOC for the first time and for annual renewals
• Associate Affiliates: Applies to companies with multiple offices or locations
• Dues: $250.00 annually for Associate Affiliate members
