Welcome to U.S. Taekwondo Center, a premier martial arts school located in Monterey Park, California. With over 40 years of experience, we have been dedicated to teaching students of all ages the values of martial arts, discipline, and confidence. Our mission is to guide students of all ages to reach their goals and maximum potential, enhancing the quality of each individual's life.

Our school is founded on the principles of fostering individual internalization of Taekwondo, achieving equilibrium, and making it possible for everyone to experience physical, mental, and spiritual harmony. We encourage students to channel positive outcomes of accomplished goals and internal balance into the community that surrounds them.

Our Founder

Grandmaster Hyung Sun Kim is the founder of US Taekwondo Center. He is a former Korean National Champion and a former head coach for Team USA. With over 45 years of teaching experience, Grandmaster Kim believes that Taekwondo teaches confidence and discipline, and that these two principles are essential for achieving success in life.

Our Classes

Our classes are designed to improve students' physical fitness while developing mental discipline and character. We offer a variety of classes for students of all ages and skill levels, from beginner to advanced. Our instructors are experienced and certified, and they are dedicated to helping students achieve their goals.

Introductory Course

If you are interested in martial arts, looking to build self-confidence, have a child who needs to learn discipline and respect, or looking for an alternative to weight loss, we offer an introductory course to all new students. Our introductory course is designed to introduce students to the basics of Taekwondo, and to help them develop a strong foundation in the martial art. We are currently offering a 1-month free trial lesson for all new students.
