The Detering Company is a family-owned and operated business that has been serving Houston since 1926. Our History

The company's history dates back to 1871 when Herman Eberhardt (H.E.) Detering immigrated to the United States from Germany. He started a general store on Washington Avenue in the 1880s, followed by a concrete tile company and a broom factory. Today, The Detering Company continues to be a family-owned business, committed to the same values of quality and customer satisfaction that were present from the very beginning.
