A Legacy of Cultural Sensitivity and Social Justice in Mental Health

The Center for Multicultural Training in Psychology (CMTP), founded in 1975, stands at the forefront of promoting cultural sensitivity and social justice in mental health. Based at Boston Medical Center and affiliated with the Boston University School of Medicine, CMMT has nurtured the careers of future psychologists who champion inclusivity and accessibility in mental healthcare.

Nurturing Future Mental Health Leaders

Our APA-accredited clinical internship program provides exceptional training for aspiring psychologists to become culturally sensitive and competent in diverse settings. Combining theoretical knowledge with practical experience, interns develop crucial skills in assessment, diagnosis, intervention, and treatment across various populations.

Promoting Cultural Humility and Social Awareness

Beyond professional development, CMMT fosters a deep understanding of cultural humility and social justice. Through "CMTP Speaks" social justice initiatives, we actively address issues of social inequality, systemic discrimination, and mental health disparities.
