Our Story

Founded in 2003 by Kevin Wicks and Thomas Gilberti Jr., Gulfcoast Physical Therapy & Performance Center, Inc. has quickly become one of the most successful outpatient private practices in Sarasota. With over 20 years of experience each, Wicks and Gilberti bring their expertise and passion for rehabilitation to the forefront of outpatient rehabilitation. Our team of therapists is committed to providing individualized care that addresses the unique needs and goals of each patient.

Our Philosophy

Our philosophy is to treat every individual as an individual. We believe that every person is unique, and that's why we offer one-on-one professional care in a casual and relaxed atmosphere. We strive to make our patients feel comfortable and confident during their rehabilitative experience, and we celebrate each patient's progress and successes along the way.

Our Services

We offer a wide range of services, including physical therapy, occupational therapy, and hand therapy. Our physical therapists are trained to address a variety of conditions, including orthopedic, neurological, and cardiovascular disorders. Our occupational therapists specialize in treating upper extremity disorders and hand injuries. Our hand therapist is certified by the American Society of Hand Therapists.

Our Facility

Gulfcoast Physical Therapy and Performance Center, Inc. is conveniently located on the southwest corner of Beneva and Clark Road in the Beneva Village Shops. Our 1,500 square foot clinic is equipped with numerous treatment tables, two private treatment rooms, and a rehabilitation area. We also have a separate area dedicated to occupational therapy, hand therapy, and splint fabrication.

Meet Our Therapists

Our team of therapists is comprised of experienced professionals who are dedicated to providing exceptional care. Meet our therapists:

• Kevin Wicks, PT Physical Therapist, Owner: Kevin graduated from Northeastern University in 1993 with a bachelor's degree in physical therapy. His experience over the last 24 years has been fairly diverse, including neurological conditions such as stroke, spinal cord injuries, and musculoskeletal disorders.
• Tom Gilberti, AT/L Licensed Athletic Trainer, Owner: Tom graduated from the University of Miami in 1982 with a degree in exercise science. He has over 30 years of experience in athletic training and sports medicine.
