*Our History*

Established in February 1951, Haynes Brothers Lumber Company has been a cornerstone of the building industry for over seven decades. Founded by five brothers - Grady, Haywood, Fayne, Charles T., and Curtis - the company identified a need for a reliable and comprehensive building materials supplier within the community. This vision led them to open their doors in April 1952 at their current location on Northwest Broad Street in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, officially launching Haynes Brothers Supply Co.

The company experienced significant growth and transformation over the years. In October 1973, Haynes Brothers Supply Co. transitioned into a limited partnership under the management of Grady and Larry. Haywood, Fayne, Terry (Grady's son), and Marlene Haynes Luffman joined as limited partners, solidifying a commitment to family values and collaboration. By August 1979, Terry expanded his involvement by purchasing Haywood's share, becoming a general partner alongside Fayne and Marlene, who remained as limited partners.

The company continued to evolve, and in October 1993, Terry's ownership increased to 51%, propelling him to the position of Managing General Partner and CEO, successfully carrying the torch from Grady, who had led the company since its inception. This marked a pivotal moment in Haynes Brothers' journey, solidifying Terry's vision and strategic leadership.

Further expansion came in August 2001 with the grand opening of a second Haynes Brothers location in Shelbyville, Tennessee. This strategic move extended their reach and ensured they could better serve the needs of customers across the Middle Tennessee region.

Today, Haynes Brothers Lumber Company stands as a testament to the founding brothers' foresight and the enduring power of family values combined with a commitment to quality and customer service. Terry remains actively involved in the company, while his son, Robert, expertly manages the day-to-day operations, ensuring the company continues to thrive and adapt to the ever-changing demands of the building industry. The core principles instilled by Grady continue to guide the company, allowing Haynes Brothers Lumber Co. to evolve alongside the growth of its community.
