About Us

Founded in 2019 by Simon Davis and Derek Neretich, Sloatsburg Nursery started as a retail and wholesale plant, tree, and garden nursery, but its roots can be traced back to 2017 when it began selling salt and firewood. With years of experience in horticulture and landscaping, the founders recognized the need for a better, more local source of lush, vibrant planting materials for both home gardeners and landscapers in Rockland County, NY, and nearby areas, such as Bergen County, NJ and Orange County, NY.

Sloatsburg Nursery is located on the site of the former Arden Hill Nursery in Sloatsburg, NY. The grounds required extensive restoration and renovation, including the construction of terraces with massive stone walls, the planning of stock sections, and the installation of irrigation systems. The existing building was also given a new roof and other improvements, both inside and out. Today, Sloatsburg Nursery stands as a testament to the founders' vision and commitment to providing top-quality planting materials and expert advice.
