At Roc Kids Smile, our mission is to provide specialized and comprehensive care for children from infancy through adolescence, including those with special needs, in a fun, safe, and state-of-the-art environment with a focus on prevention and education for the families.
Our History
Our founder, Dr. Maria Aslani-Breit, is a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist with extensive experience in pediatric dentistry. After completing her education at the University of Athens Dental School, she received a certificate in Pediatric Dentistry from Eastman Dental Center at the University of Rochester. She has been providing care for children in her private state-of-the-art pediatric dental office in Brighton since 2001.
Our Team
Dr. Aslani-Breit's team is carefully selected to support her vision of providing excellent dental care in a fun and comfortable environment for families. Our team consists of New York State Licensed Dental Hygienists and New York State Licensed Certified Dental Assistants. Our hygienists are the heartbeat of our preventive program, educating families in the importance of optimal oral health care. Our assistants have extensive training in orthodontic and conscious sedation procedures and operating room protocol.
What is a Pediatric Dentist?
A pediatric dentist is a specialist dedicated to the oral health of children, providing both primary and specialty care. Pediatric dentists have at least 2 extra years of specialized training in the oral health of young people, including those with special health care needs. Unlike general dentists, pediatric dentists focus on caring for all children's dental needs, providing the most up-to-date and thorough treatment for a wide variety of children's dental problems.
What is a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist?
A Board Certified Pediatric Dentist is a pediatric dentist who has gone through a certification process administered by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry (ABPD), validating the candidate's in-depth knowledge and proficiency in the specialty of pediatric dentistry.
What is a Diplomate?
Upon successful completion of the certification process by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, a pediatric dentist is designated as a Diplomate and becomes a member of The College of Diplomates. This designation ensures that a pediatric dentist has successfully completed accredited training and a voluntary examination process designed to continually validate the knowledge, skills, and experience requisite to the delivery of quality patient care.
