Our journey began with a partnership with three area sawmills, making us fully integrated from the log to the finished product. This integration allows us to provide quality pallets at competitive prices. We have invested in state-of-the-art nailing machines, which enable us to produce over 6,000 pallets each working day. Additionally, our fleet of tractors and trailers ensures timely delivery according to our customers' needs. We also offer heat-treatment to meet ISPM-15 regulations, ensuring our products meet the highest standards.

A Family Legacy

Bass Lumber Company was incorporated in 1946 by Chester Bass and Michael McGinn. After Mr. Bass's passing, Michael's son Larry took over the company in 1954, following his service in the Korean War. Today, Bass Lumber Company is a third-generation family business located in Wetumpka, Alabama. Larry McGinn ran the company for 58 years, expanding the sawmill and adding a retail construction supply division and a wooden pallet division. The company became a true family business in 1980 when his wife, Yvonne "Bunny" McGinn, joined as a bookkeeper. The third generation, Pat McGinn, joined in 1994 to manage the pallet business, and the fourth generation, Patrick McGinn Jr., now manages the production of the saw lines.

Under Pat's leadership, Bass Lumber Company has experienced remarkable growth, with annual sales increasing by over 350% from 1994 to 2013. We can now produce 5,000 pallets a day and have the capability to cut ends necessary for manufacturing these pallets. Our commitment to quality and the environment is evident in our partnerships with three area sawmills: Central Alabama Wood Products, Wilton Wood Products, and Castleberry Wood Products. This partnership ensures that we are fully integrated from logs to finished products, providing us with the uncommon ability to offer quality industrial lumber and pallets that meet our customers' needs. Our green initiatives and membership in the National Wooden Pallet & Container Association and the Timber Products Inspection further demonstrate our dedication to sustainability and quality.
