Sweet Acre Farms Winery

Sweet Acre Farms Winery is a small, family-owned farm situated in the picturesque foothills of the Northeast Georgia mountains. Originally a u-pick farm specializing in blackberries and honey from our bees, we have expanded into Hall County's first winery, focusing on fruit or "country wines" that pay homage to the traditional recipes passed down through southern families. We pride ourselves on using the finest ingredients from our farm and local producers to showcase Georgia's rich agricultural diversity.

Our tasting room, only a 10-minute drive north of Gainesville, GA, offers indoor and outdoor seating options. Visitors can enjoy wine tastings featuring five one-ounce samples for $15, and have the opportunity to purchase wine by the glass, bottle, or flight. Don't forget to try our famous wine slushies and charcuterie boards! For the convenience of our customers, reservations are not required for groups of eight or fewer, and curbside pick-up is available. Well-behaved dogs on leashes with up-to-date rabies tags are welcome outside but not inside the tasting room.

Our Story

We are Matthew and Lindsey Vrahiotes, the proud owners and operators of Sweet Acre Farms Winery. We met on a blind date while attending Valdosta State University and quickly discovered our shared passion for working together. After seven years of marriage and six years of building our farm from the ground up while maintaining full-time jobs, our dream of opening Sweet Acre Farms Winery became a reality in 2016.

Our journey has been filled with learning experiences in beekeeping, gardening, fruit cultivation, winemaking, construction, sales, and parenthood. With the support of our three beautiful children, who are our driving force and make our farm even sweeter, we have achieved success in our endeavors. We are grateful for their love and encouragement, which enables us to strive for greater accomplishments.

Our Wines

At Sweet Acre Farms Winery, we focus on producing fruit wines using traditional country methods, without adding water, artificial flavorings, colorings, or concentrates. This results in rich, full-bodied wines that truly reflect the flavors and aromas of the fruit on the label. These are not your typical grape wines with artificial flavoring - these are authentic fruit wines, crafted with care and expertise. Our unique label paintings are created by Judy Crumley, Lindsey's talented mother.
