Many reviewers share their disappointments and frustrations with Western Maine Transportation. Several authors express difficulty in scheduling rides, with some even having to wait hours for pick-ups. Unreliable service seems to be a recurring issue, with cancelations and no-shows plaguing many users.
One reviewer, Frank Sanborn, shares a particularly troubling experience, having been forgotten twice and forced to cancel important doctor appointments. He also expresses frustration with the program's apparent prioritization of Maine Care clients, disrespectful treatment, and high risk of tardiness.
Other issues include inadequate communication on scheduling and ride requirements, leading to missed appointments and misunderstandings. Some drivers are praised for being professional and helpful, but it seems that the office staff is often the source of frustration.
Service Disruptions and Irregularities
Several reviewers mention issues with the wheelchair lift, which is sensitive to ice and slippery conditions, and has caused rejection of pick-ups. Another reviewer shares a concern for the safety and comfort of children, citing long wait times and delays that may lead to accidents.
Mixed Views on Reliability and Value
Some reviewers appreciate the service, with one parent praising the reliability of Western Maine Transportation for their child's daily ride to school. Another reviewer commends the professionalism and courtesy of certain drivers, like Dave and Shelley.
However, these positive comments are vastly outnumbered by complaints and concerns. Service disruptions, cancellations, and poor communication seem to be endemic issues that detract from the overall quality and reliability of the service.
