Changing awareness one body at a time
At Body Aware Therapy, LLC, we are committed to providing a unique and personalized experience for each of our clients. As a licensed massage therapist, I, Kim Edwards, specialize in the John F. Barnes Myofascial Release Approach, which has been extensively researched and proven to be a highly effective method for reducing pain, improving flexibility, and enhancing overall well-being.
With over 10 years of experience as a physical therapist assistant, I have witnessed firsthand the transformative power of myofascial release. My journey began when I experienced sacroiliac joint pain and lower back pain, which I was able to alleviate through self-treatment using myofascial release techniques. This experience not only healed my own body but also inspired me to share this life-changing approach with others.
What is Fascia?
Fascia is a network of connective tissue that surrounds every muscle, bone, nerve, artery, vein, and internal organ. It is a liquid crystalline structure that plays a crucial role in facilitating movement, providing support, and regulating blood flow. However, due to trauma, surgery, or inflammation, fascia can become restricted, leading to pain, limited mobility, and decreased function.
Fascia Services
At Body Aware Therapy, LLC, we offer a range of services designed to address fascial restrictions and promote overall wellness. Our services include:
- 60-minute sessions ($85)
- 90-minute sessions ($125)
- 120-minute sessions ($155)
- Package deals for 3 sessions (60 minutes, $225; 90 minutes, $335)
What to Expect at Your Visit
During your initial visit, we will review your health forms, assess your posture, and identify patterns of restriction. Unlike traditional massage techniques, myofascial release therapy does not require oils or lotions, so please refrain from applying any prior to your session. Each session is tailored to your unique needs, and I may work on areas that may not be immediately apparent.
Cancellation Policy
Please notify me at least 24 hours prior to your scheduled appointment to avoid a $45 fee for cancellation. If you are unable to start on time, your session will still conclude at the original time.
