The South Utah Valley Electric Service District (SESD) is a political subdivision of the State of Utah and a local improvement district. Established in 1985 by the Utah State Legislature, SESD is a "Not for profit" Public Power entity created to provide electric service in Southern Utah County. As a member of the Utah Association of Public Power, SESD is committed to delivering affordable and reliable electricity to its customers.

Our Services

SESD offers a wide range of services including new construction, residential and commercial service, and existing construction upgrades. For new developments, SESD provides services for residential home service, residential subdivision service, general electric service for shops and wells, and commercial or industrial service. The district also handles pole attachment applications, easements, and rights-of-way for utility lines. In addition, SESD offers services for existing constructions, such as residential service upgrades, replacements, or generator switchovers, and commercial or industrial service upgrades or replacements.

Community Engagement

SESD is dedicated to engaging with the community through various initiatives. The district participates in events like the Youth Leadership Challenge and the Carbon Free Power Project. SESD also recognizes the importance of linemen, celebrating Linemen Appreciation Day annually. Furthermore, the district encourages energy conservation through tips and programs designed to help customers reduce their energy usage and lower their bills.

System Study and Capital Facilities Plan

SESD regularly conducts system studies to ensure the efficient operation and development of its infrastructure. The district's Capital Facilities Plan outlines strategic investments in the electric grid to meet future demands and improve service reliability.
